Browser Extension

This section applies to the NiceHire Job Capture extension for Google Chrome. It is in addition to the rest of this policy, which continues to apply to your NiceHire account.

What the extension does. The extension connects your browser to your own NiceHire account. If you use NiceHire as a talent user, it lets you save a job posting you are viewing into your account. If your account belongs to an employer organization, it instead shows a search box that opens your organization's own candidate pool on nicehire.ai.

It only acts when you click. The extension has no background process and does not run while you browse. It runs only while its popup is open, and the popup opens only when you click the extension's icon in your toolbar.

What the extension reads. In talent mode, when you click "Capture this page", the extension reads the job details on the page you are viewing — title, company, location, description, salary if listed, and any text you selected — to show you a preview. That preview stays on your device: none of those details is transmitted anywhere. In employer mode, the extension never reads the page you are on.

What is sent to NiceHire — and nowhere else

The extension communicates with exactly one destination: nicehire.ai, our own service, always over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. It sends:

  • • The web address (URL) of a job page you explicitly chose to save. NiceHire then retrieves the job details from that address — a step our own servers or service providers acting on our instructions perform — and nothing the extension read from the page is uploaded.
  • • When you open the popup, requests that check whether you are signed in, which mode (talent or employer) applies to your account, and your list of saved jobs. These requests carry no page content and nothing you typed.
  • • Your existing nicehire.ai session cookie, attached automatically by your browser, which identifies you as the signed-in user. The extension itself never reads, stores, or handles your password or your cookies.
  • • In employer mode, the search term you type is used to open your candidate-search page on nicehire.ai in a new tab — an ordinary page visit, exactly as if you had typed the search on nicehire.ai directly.

What stays on your device. The extension keeps one thing locally: a temporary copy of your recently saved jobs, so the popup can open instantly. It clears automatically when you close your browser. The extension stores nothing else.

What the extension never does. It does not track your browsing history or activity. It does not use analytics or advertising trackers. It does not run code from remote servers. And it does not sell your information or share it with third parties — there is no destination other than NiceHire.

Limited Use

Our use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use this information only to provide the extension's single, user-facing purpose described above. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to third parties beyond what the feature itself requires — for example, retrieving and processing the job posting at the address you asked to save, which may be carried out by service providers acting on our instructions.

If this changes. If the extension's data practices change, we will update this section and proactively notify extension users of the change.

Policy Updates

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of any significant changes via email or through our platform.
